Custom Housings & Pedestals

Over the years we have developed a library of hole patterns for over 1,000 popular security components of all kinds: card readers, keypads, intercoms, cameras, and more. Thus, when asked to suggest a housing we will first inquire about the brand and model of each component that is to be installed in it. We can then recommend a housing specifically suited for those components, including holes and cutouts for installing them in the panel. We even include mounting hardware if we think it is not provided with a component. We strive to make our part of your installation as “turn-key” as possible.

Acrylic Card Reader Housing Non-Metallic

EPS acrylic housings are generally used to install a long-range proximity card reader and one or more other components on a pedestal.

EPS custom housings are designed specifically for use at vehicular and pedestrian access points. Card readers, intercoms, cameras and other security devices are attached to the lockable, tilt-in panel. These housings can be attached to pedestals, walls or other surfaces. Made of 12-gauge steel, they are zinc plated and powder coated for enhanced rust resistance.

EPS S3S series pedestals are used with EPS housings and acrylic products. They are made of 3” square, 11-gauge steel tubing. Pedestals are sandblasted, zinc-plated, and powder coated for enhanced rust resistance. A base plate, base plate cover, and flange are included with each pedestal. Pedestals mount to a concrete surface using anchor bolts (not provided). Pedestal dimensional tolerance is +/- ½”. Contact EPS for non-standard sizes, special features or special colors.

Style 3 pedestals have 30-degree arms with lengths ranging from 2” to 12” (2”, 6”, and 12” standard). For longer arms a Style 4 stanchion is recommended. Standard height for automobile access is 36” if the stanchion is mounted on a raised island or 42” if it is attached to the road surface. Heights of 42”- 48” are suitable for walk-up/ADA applications. Heights of 48”- 66” are useful for service vehicles and heights of 72” and above accommodate large trucks.

Style 4 pedestals are functionally equivalent to the Style 3 pedestals, but they have two-piece arms. The first piece meets the vertical post at a 45-degree angle. The second is horizontal. Standard Style 4 stanchion arm lengths are 6”, 12”, 18” and 24”. For arms shorter than 6” a Style 3 stanchion is recommended.

Dual height pedestals have two arms at different heights to accommodate both cars and trucks. They have the same basic features of the single arm Style 3 and Style 4 pedestals.
